Glasgow’s silhouette: from the Clyde to its stone towers

This skyline of Glasgow explores the character of the Scottish city, from contemporary architecture on the River Clyde to its historic towers and the hill of the Necropolis. The silhouette brings these places together in a panoramic composition linked by the line of the rooftops.

The journey begins with the Glasgow Tower, beside the low, curved forms of the Glasgow Science Centre. Next come the stepped roofs of the SEC Armadillo, reminiscent of a protective shell, and the large oval form of the Hydro, two of the most recognisable buildings on the contemporary Clyde waterfront.

The Finnieston Crane rises next, recalling Glasgow’s industrial and maritime past. Beside it, the arch of the Clyde Arc introduces a gentle curve among the vertical structures and leads the eye towards the University of Glasgow, dominated by the tower of the main building at Gilmorehill.

Following the city’s outline, chimneys and rooftops give way to the Tolbooth Steeple, a reminder of historic Glasgow. The journey continues into the cathedral’s monumental surroundings, passing Barony Hall and the Glasgow Royal Infirmary before reaching the soaring spire of Glasgow Cathedral.

At the right-hand end, the slope of the Glasgow Necropolis gently raises the profile to the John Knox Monument. A skyline where the curves of the Clyde, industrial memories and stone towers tell the story of a city with a strong Scottish identity.

For the brown color variant, a brown lacquer primer is applied to give the wood a darker tone. This creates a rich, warm look that can complement many decor styles.

For the black color variant, a matte black finish primer is applied to the wood. This finish creates a sleek and sophisticated look that can work well in modern and minimalist settings.

The natural wood variant is untreated and showcases the natural beauty of Birch wood. This option is ideal for those who prefer a more rustic and organic look in their decor.

Instructions

Remove your city skyline from the box.

To ensure secure attachment, apply double-sided adhesive strips to the back of the skyline evenly, using a minimum of three to four attachment points.

Carefully wipe the surface where you wish to attach the skyline with a dry, dust-free cloth to ensure that the surface is free of grease and dirt.

Remove the protection from the back of the adhesive points and gently press the skyline against the desired surface to secure it in place.

Verify that the skyline is securely attached and is level before releasing it. Adjust if necessary.

How can they be attached to the wall?

In the product we include an envelope with padded double-sided adhesives to fix on the wall. They are transparent dots that must be peeled off and placed on the back of the piece distributing them evenly and in the thickest parts of the skyline, then remove the protection on the other side and fix on the wall.

Can it be hung on stippled or plastered walls?

There would be no problem to fix the skylines on a stippled wall as the double-sided adhesive tape we include is padded and very resistant. In addition, the skylines are not too heavy. However, you have to consider the roughness and type of stippling on your wall. We do not recommend it for brick or plastered walls. The ideal is to place it on a smooth wall, because it adheres better.

Is it possible to make this model in custom size or larger?

At the moment it is not possible, as we must take into account the logistical limitations of packages larger than 100 cm.
